My hypnotherapy course has begun. We've done business planning and marketing, and EmoTrance, which is not an innovative new genre of music, but a mispelling of Emotional Transformation.
It is very exciting. Our training takes place on a Saturday and Sunday, and the schedule involves 5 hours of workshops interspersed with a total of 3 hours spend consuming tea and biscuits or at the pub down the road. So far it has not posed any intellectual difficulties, but is suprisingly draining. The piles of chocolate biscuits are a strictly necessary provision for the training, because the blood sugar feels pretty low after the techniques we been using.
By weekday I wander to work at 11am and wander home again at 3.30, which suits my idle schedule. Work involves operating the switchboard at a medium-sized financial institution. Between answering calls I can read back-issues of Take A Break and think of ideas for short stories I can scribble at my desk whilst simultaneously getting paid by the agency. Also been doing a bit of essay writing which I getting paid for. It sounds like I'm busy but I still spend most of my time sleeping, drinking and reading Harry Potter.
My household is the blight on my otherwise utopian life. I live in a vastly overpriced terraced house which I share with three other girls. The excitement for this week is that someone has spattered what looks like hair bleach on the sofa and no-one knows anything about it. So I'm moving back in with the Rawsmeister in two weeks time. We haven't got a place to move to yet. But I'm not worried, and the Raws isn't even in the country so I presume she's not worried either.
So here in Birmingham the rain is pouring, but the weather feels sweet, and it make me want to move my dancing little feet. I feel as though my lethargia has simply slid away while my back was turned, as if it was never here in the first place. The kind doctor told me last month that I shouldn't make myself get by on less than 2 fluoxetine a day. So it may be just the increased milegrammage of antidepressants, but the month of September is looking like a good one.
