Spanish is such a rich language and we got tons of sayings, these are the ones I could remember right now, but if you like them I will def make more posts like this. 🤍
COGER EL TORO POR LOS CUERNOS
To face any situation, when translated literally it is "take the bull by the thorns"
ENTRAR AL TRAPO
When in a discussion someone tries to hurt you or disturb you and instead of letting go you keep going with the disputation. When translated literally it is "entering in the cloth"
ESCURRIR EL BULTO
To try and hide something you did wrong so no one notices. When translated literally it is "To drain the lump"
PARAR LOS PIES
To stop someone from doing or saying something. When translated literally it is "To stop the feet"
DE TAL PALO, PALO TAL ASTILLA
When in a family the son/daughter act the same way as the parents or even grandparents. When translated literally it is "Like stick, like splinter"
A CABALLO REGALADO NO LE MIRES EL DIENTE
When someone receives a present and complains about something we usually say this, which refers to not complain about presents. When translated literally it is "Don't stare at the teeth of a given horse"
