Driftless thoughts. An assortment of things in my life that have little to zero connection to one another.
First - So Im still a bit bitter about being dumped for ill one-dimensional reasons but then I listened to some music. Music is such an amazing lively piece of art, it reflects us, it inspires us, it breaks down barriers and sometimes in my case it comforts us. Now while this song isn't exactly "comfort" material the music and lyrics behind it just brought a solace to my heart, saying your better off and your stronger for it.
Also it one of my favorite bands, like I said I met them before, awesome night.
Second - I am promoting a film that was completely made in my hometown of Ann Arbor, the movie is calle Naked Angel its a drama romance about a man who has given up life until he meets his guardian angel, she ends up falling in love with him and must decide if she wants to give up her immortality to become human and live with him. Personally not my style of filmmaking but I'm so excited to see a film Im promoting getting attention. The premire is September 24th at the Ann Arbor State Theater.
I know nobody on SG lives here in Michigan () besides me but if you want to show support purchase a ticket for just $10 online at the theater's website. I appreciate it greatly and so would the entire cast and crew, or at least check out the trailer.
The movie stars -
James Duval (Independence Day, Gone In 60 Seconds, Go, SLC Punk, Donnie Darko, May)
Debra Wilson (MAD TV, Reno 911, CSI, Scary Movie 4, and many other TV shows)
Andy Wolf (Shutter, Battlestar Galactica)
and other TV stars.
Third - Tattoos are awesome, we all know this I am planning to get my NIN tattoo soon. Why Nine Inch Nails? Because nothing else in my life (as of yet) as inspired me more than the music of NIN. I feel the body and the mind are a temple, tattoos tell the story of your temple, of your journey. This is what Im planning on.
But I dont think it ever compare to this..
Fourth - My poetry collection which is still untitled is being worked on still but Naked Angel is number 1 right now but Im pushing to make the images and the poems to be equally beautiful, disturbing, fun and thoughtful. I promise to try my hardest to make it acceptable. Anger will be angry, Treachery will be heartbreaking, Lust will be sexy and Gluttony sick.
Five - I recently just watched the movie In The Name Of The King with Jason Statham (sorry Im a sucker for him) and Im so torn from it. It was the most uneven film ever. Its a fantasy film about a man whose son is killed and his wife taken by an army of beasts called the Krug which are being controlled by an evil wizard who wants to rule the kingdom. Very typical fantasy action adventure plot.
The movie's casting ranges from great to horrid. Jason Statham as the hero, kicking ass is cool. His best friend is played by Ron Perlman (Hellboy) excellent underrated actor, theres a good wizard well played by John Rhys-Davis and his smoking hot witch/warrior daughter Leelee Sobieski. Now the bad. Burt Reynolds, yes BURT REYNOLDS is the king in the movie ouch and the villian is Ray Liotta. I like Ray but he plays it so hammy. The action sequences are pretty decent, the special effects range from top grade to bottom of the barrel. The music is really good but the editing is unusual and...I dont know I cant say I hated the movie but it was a just strange for the type of movie it was trying to be, I kinda liked it but I know I shouldn't
Six - Have a great day!
