and i'm back!!! haha. so, my exams pretty near killed me, but i'm here to tell the tale, so that's gotta be a good thing... the worst part is.. that i realized at about 3am last night that i mixed up two words on my logic exam.. which wouldn't be a huge deal, except that it was about defining terms.. and not only was i defining the terms wrong because of this word switch, but it ended up being that i was defining the wrong terms.. haha. its kinda funny now that i think about it.. haha.
so now that that stress is lifted, i feel much better. i mean, sure, i still have one exam left, but its not going to be a huge deal.. that the 'if you don't like the exam, feel free to write an existential play' prof.. so yeah, i'm reaaaally not worried.
and as a celebration for writing the last of my stressful exams yesterday.. i knew i was treating myself to a night of good ol' fashioned rock n' roll... yep, i went to see Aerosmith!! how am i not the coolest cat around? (most of my friends made fun of me for a) wanting to go.. then b) actually buying tickets and then c) for actually going to the concert.) but i'm not ashamed.. it was fantastic!
i didn't end up drinking at the concert.. yet i felt intoxicated when i left.. it was amazing.
Lenny Kravitz hit the stage first.. and i admit i pretty impartial about seeing him. didn't matter to me.. but boy can that man put on a show! (it really helped him connect with the crowd that his keyboard player is from winnipeg.. and one of his big hits, 'american woman' was originally written by a winnipeg band..) that's right.. it was a 'peg city representin' kinda night.. haha. he ended off his set by walking all the way around the arena on the floor.. he made the round.. which i'd never seen done before...
Aerosmith took the stage with Helter-Skelter.. Joe Perry was dressed resembling Sgt. Pepper.. it was fantastic... then they went on to rock my socks off!!! and they ended the night with a moment of silence for John Lennon... saying that.. "this is the exact minute 25 years ago that John Lennon was shot". it was one of the most powerful things i have ever experienced. after the moment of silence, they sang Come Together... so while it was all in all a rockin' good time.. it was humbling at the same time... just wow.
this concert is right up there, near the top with Nine Inch Nails (where i saw my first guitar smash.. \m/) and Motorhead (meanest, dirtiest, fastest and loudest band in the world) haha... so it was pretty freakin' good. then as i'm standing there... just letting it all sink in.. i think to myself.. "how does that man still have so much energy? 'cause it sure as hell isn't drugs..." so all in all.. this made for me a very happy girl. i'll be riding this high for a while

I created a hard and fast rule for Christmas trees because I was experiencing the same delays that you are. The first Sunday in December the tree goes up. Period. No debate, no discussions! So far it's worked out pretty well considering that's about the time the office Christmas parties are starting up as well.
Though, keeping the Christmas tree up till Valentine's day sounds like a GREAT idea. Just change some of the ornements for hearts and cupids (heck the Christmas angels look pretty close. Just remove the harps and horns and substitute bows & arrows!) and you're in business! Artificial trees rock for just that sort of thing!
