I lost my baby. I couldn't save her.
My Widget, my Squidgible Widgible has flown her dirigible over the Rainbow Bridge. I had her put to sleep on Friday the 5th of June as I could not leave her to succumb to painful death by illness. She was just under two years old. On Thursday night I fed her, watered her by syringe and bathed her as she could no longer groom herself due to paralysis, and spent our last night together holding her close against my heart, trying to memorise the feel of her fur and the sound of her contented bruxing as she snuggled under my chin. She slept in my bed until morning when I took her to the vet and she passed peacefully.
I'm going to miss you so, so much, my beautiful little daughter. Sleep well
Pictures of her as a tiny baby:

Bigger girl:

All grown up and beautiful:

I buried her in the planter in the garden alongside all my other ratties. I buried Millie at the same time, who has been in the freezer since January as the ground has been too hard to bury her
I tidied out the planter of weeds and lay them both to rest, side by side, before laying tiles and flowers back over the top of the earth.
In memory of these two wonderful little friends, who brought joy and love into my life at times when I felt alone, here is a repost of my Vermin's Vermin video for those of you who haven't seen it.
Rest in peace xxxx
