WTF? I was ill, then I got better...now I'm ill again.
I blame it on the railway services. Seriously - I had to go to Lincoln to meet a client I've been working with for a few months, he turned out to be possibly the most dull person in the known universe. It was supposed to be an informal but professional meet-up so we could talk about the project over lunch. I ended up feeling like a precocious niece being taken out for lunch by a dim but well-meaning uncle.
I actually felt quite insulted. I'm twenty years old but I know what I'm fucking doing, he's paying me for a reason, and there I am trying to explain why his stupid ideas won't work because his programmer is an idiot and getting your site well-ranked on Google is more important than sending pleading letters to Richard and Judy, and he's going on about how it can't be a common occurrence, me being treated to a nice lunch by an old man (he's a schoolteacher approaching retirement, the project has a lot of potential but it seems I'm the only person working on it who even knows where the fucking button IS, never mind having your finger on it). He then took me on a tour round the cathedral grounds, giving me a history lesson. Yeah, cheers. Because it was a casual meeting over lunch I didn't go overboard, smart casual, made sure my hair was neat and my papers were in order. I wish I'd gone in a suit with power heels and my hair in a fucking bun - he might have talked to me like a fucking adult.
Jesus Christ.
Anyway - I got to the train station and my train had been cancelled and replaced with a bus. Fine. I waited for the bus.
Needless to say it didn't turn up on time. By a very, very long time. I missed all my connections, just managed to catch the last train from Sheffield and ended up getting a cab home from sodding Piccadilly. Waking up at 5.45am, spending most of the day with a moron followed by hours in the cold has done my immune system no favours and I have the sorest throat ever.
I'm back up with my parents for a coupla days because they're showing the Muse HAARP concert at the cinema and we has tickits. High definition, surround sound. Yummity yummity yum.
Anyway - if anybody needs animated graphics for their site, or, hell, even a whole site - and is willing to treat me like a frigging professional, let me know!
