I knew it had to happen eventually, but getting laid off was a real shock. I did not take the news well. I think that my job was the last thing holding me to the past and the NOLA that I remember. It will be kind of nice having a fresh start, but I am feeling rootless and heartbroken at the moment. At least we will be out of here in less than a week, and in a new New Orleans soon. Anybody there need a host/bartender/waiter?
