My ex-wife is at a crossroads in her life. I was surprised to see her at the doorstep.
She came to me tonight for a friendly shoulder to cry on.

I won't discuss what was said because it's not my place to say.

She still considers me one of her best friends. That was a surprise to me too.

In the end, she literally cried on my shoulder. And I held her for the first time in a long time. Like really held her. Like I tried to make her feel safe in my embrace. I haven't done that since our son was born.

Alot of unwelcome feelings surfaced, but my eyes stayed dry. After all, this wasn't about me, it was about her.

In the end, I will always wish her all the happiness in the world.
