So lets see here...
So we'll start with the "bad" to get it out of the way. Significantly less here than most people, I know, so I dont want to bitch all that much.
First off, my computer died on saturday morning...not too sure why but I talked to a support dude who assured me that it's fucked. There wasn't too much left on the computer that I NEED since I reformatted it like 5 months ago...but there's definately some things on there that will be missed. Just crappy timing all in all, but I managed to find a deal on a new laptop. only $350 for a somewhat basic model. but it serves the needs.
The second, and pretty much only other, "bad" that keeps happening for me is for some reason I keep having dreams with my ex in it. She's never in a big role...just there. Talking to me, being civil. Its a level of civility that I haven't seen out of her in years, and it takes me back far enough through the memories to actually miss her when I wake up. Its a rather awful feeling, because as I lay there rousing myself to the world, the memories of all the shit that has happened comes rolling into my mind like an avalanche, obliterating the fondness and leaving me with stark loneliness instead...
As for the "good".
Well, as I stated above, finding a new computer that I can actually afford DEFINATELY falls into the good. I got rather lucky. Went to best buy on saturday and left depressed because there was just nothing under $500. I went back today to see if there were any new deals with the new week, and there it was. It definately is more functional than my 5 year old POS that it's replacing, so I'm happy I finally had the motivation to go and get a new one.
Also, I finally got my Elvis Costello CD from my buddy and listened to it for the first time today (For some reason, this band always just slipped through the cracks with me) and I friggin love it. Its most of the first CD from his new best-of album. Definately some solid tunes there. One thing that I fell out on over the marriage was my music obsession. I went from buying an album a week to nothing new virtually overnight, and I hate having stagnant music. So, with suggestions from friends and also just plodding through the internet on my own, I have been able to start compiling bands that I want to pick up albums for. It'll be a slow process since I'm always broke at this point, but I figure that when i get around to quitting smoking, I can use the extra funds to buy myself albums. Also would really love to get into vinyl, so if anyone knows where I can get a good record player, lemme know.
So, that's me as of late. Nothing too exciting, I know.
