To answer your question dear, I am self taught. Started experimenting with eye shadow in the 9th grade, eventually fooled around with primer's and bases and loud vibrant colors. I'm still mastering the smokey eye look but i've definitely hit close to perfection with applying lashes, a fierce cat eye with eye liner and foundation. Practice and consistency certainly can help put the icing on the cake. Everything I know now, I had no fucking clue what I was doing when first starting but after observing, practicing, and failing, I slowly I started to see progress and become better. Learning the features of my face also helped me to preform better. Teaching yourself takes patience unless you're a fast learner and have a natural eye for art, cosmetology school would be your best bet. Do your homework. check around for some good schools in your area.
