Had a crazy dream last night...had to do with helicopters, a suitcase full of money that me and two others were after, some girl that had been exploited at her job, and all manner of oddballness. I also remember there being some sort of weird altercation in the men's john too...frankly, sounds like a recipe for...well, a not-so-good film. Whatever. When I woke up, all I really felt like watching was stuff about the Baja 1000.
How much do I know about the States? How much have I interacted with it? Not too much and not too often...just a couple of trips here and there. If I had my way and if I had the means, I'd make a trek from where I am (Toronto) and try and do all 50 states. I wanna see; wanna learn, see what it's like for a while.
...and the more I think about tis crazy idea, this half-baked notion...it wouldn't be so bad, really. Say it was a week in all 50 states. How hard is that? How long is that to do? 50 weeks? That's like almost a year with two weeks off. That's not that bad, really. It's like workin' a job. So what's that need? About a year's worth of livin'? I'm sure I could save it if it paid off in an amazing experience.
I think it's time to check in with the consulates.

California -> Nevada -> Utah -> Wyoming -> Nebraska -> Iowa -> Illinois -> Indiana -> Michigan -> Ontario
That was mostly along Interstate 80, with a detour in Michigan to cross over into Sarnia, rather than into Windsor, or Niagara Falls. (If I went Niagara Falls, I would've added Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York to my trip.)
All-in-all, it took about 5 days to get across, including stops every night, and you'll definitely want a companion. Switching off driving and having someone to talk to will make it easier, that's for sure.
Here's a site to map out which states you've visited: World 66
