I don't know how to say this, but Revenge of the Nerds fucking changed my life.
S'true.
Revenge of the Nerds, Real Genius, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I have no idea how they changed my life, but they certainly did.
There's this weird mix of NERDS GETTING GIRLS that somehow made total sense to me. Like, athleticism and good looks were these shallow traits that only jocks had, and nerds had their own brand of charisma that they could exude. That and brilliant, brilliant science.
Real Genius had fun on it's side. That basically you could have a lot of fun, meet worthwhile people. That everyone wanted to have fun, and that nice people got it because they were nice. Nerds could be jerks, and those jerks were invariably left out of the cool parties.
And finally something about a guy for whom everything works out for...those naturally lucky people...something like that just seemed cool.
Anyways, those three films are really my comfort food. I've promised myself that I'd watch all three (and buy them, too!) one of these days...haven't gotten around to it. But anyways, some food for thought on this absolutely shitful night.

I loved Val Kilmer in that, and it has such funny dialogue.
sorry to hear you had a rough night!
