Today's the big day! Will the conservatives win? Will the Liberals hang on for a little bit longer? Tune in later today for more news, disappointing or otherwise!

Update: I voted! I don't feel terrible. Oh the pressure is gone...now...now I just have to do my work. The question is though...will I be doing my work in the face of...the Conservatives???

Update: FUCK! WE BLEW IT! Now there's no point in marrying a Canuck, my Americans friends...even if we are sexy n' all!
The Conservative Party is the Minority government over here, with the Liberals acting as their opposition. The Bloc Quebecois have basically come in third (the seperatists), and the NDP (the last bastion of hope for social reform) have come in last.
But what does this really mean? From what I can tell, I'm guessing that it's going to be something like 1988, when the PCs held a minority against the Liberals...which will hopefully mean that the American dollar will once again rise higher over the Canadian dollar (good news for me, bad news for everyone else, basically), and more work for me...I'm assuming. On the other hand, things will be so utterly crappy from a social standpoint. At least, that's my guess.
On the other hand, politics was never my strong point...I've been a drawer for a long time, and vote my conscience, at any rate. So I guess I'm just gonna have to see what happens...arrrrgh...

And, unlike the Liberals, the Conservatives have no natural allies to help them get a coalition government to pass legislation. They're going to have to fight for every bill they pass.
Anyone who thinks the Conservatives bought themselves a free ticket is either: a) a deluded Conservative; b) a overreacting Liberal/NDP/Green supporter.
Look at the bright side... your plan to learn how to shoot this year is no longer in jeopardy, something that would've been had the Liberals won today.
