Why are bookstores filled with useless crap?
I'm trying to find information regarding publishing, marketing, sales figures and all the rest. I know that this sort of information is a little esoteric, and the majority relates mostly with news...but what I need is analysis of sales figures, market trends and forecasts, and a realistic look at magazine publishing for the past few decades or so.
I might actually have to stop into a university bookstore or something...

And on that note, why the hell is there a vacancy on books about Painter IX? Am I alone in trying to figure this program out? I feel mildly retarded.

I think I hate bookstores. I love speciality shops...shops that give you what you want, salespeople that actually have some knowledge in what you're looking for...this whole mass consumer/mass purchase bullshit is driving me nuts. It really is about the old man mentality..."sometimes I just wanna buy one nail! Just one goddamn nail!"
I feel either really really really picky, or really really really old. And I hope it's the former and not the latter. Because man, if I'm showing my rings, it might be time to retire the ole libido.
Not that I'm saying that I feel that once you hit a certain age you become sexless...far from it. But y'know, sex can be seen as a youthful pursuit, and in the face of this metaphoryadayadayadableeeeargh.
Sometimes being an artist means you go off on tangents that make absolutely no sense to anyone else.

I've got work I'm supposed to be doing, and I'm debating whether or not it's actually in my best interests to go marching off to Toronto to go book shopping, or whether I should just put it off to the weekend instead.
And I bought a small pack of cigarettes (tiny! It's like...really hard to see!), but on the other hand, I've cut down on the coffee. We'll see how the experiment goes.

Possibly more later...
