Left Ireland with no real hassle.


Flight was uneventful until my friend had a hard time with turbulence towards landing.

New York was great, the sights were fantastic, the people were uber-friendly and generally awesome. The weather...well that was the coldest I've experienced since I worked around walk-in-freezers.
Wind chill is a bitch!
I bought a bottle of water while me and my friend were in downtown manhattan, by the time I'd gotten back to our hotel in Midtown East it had actually frozen.

We decided to brave out the jet lag and not sleep till it was late, worked out for the best. My first view of the city by daylight was as I expected.


Went to the UN Building first:

Then it was on to Times Square:



And on to Rockefeller Plaza:

Then there was the view of King Kongs climbing frame:



You can almost see the Bi-Planes.

A very very very cold me, was around -8 that day before the wind chill.

Ants...no wait, people!

Passed the New York City Library, which I remember from Ghostbusters and that's about it:

We went out for a few drinks and I developed some weird habit of taking pictures of myself in mirrors, which continued throughout the holiday.




Perhaps it was the ghost of some self obsessed fashionista who had possessed me. She'd flung herself off the roof of Versace on 5th when they'd refused to take her credit card

Before I managed to down some holy water and get back to "normal" for a while.


IRA or IRS?! Perhaps only funny to an Irishman.

You know there's never a cop around when you need one. Except at 3 a.m in NY City it seems.



Then there's a line of 35 or so flying past your hotel window in the fire lane.
