Fay: The Play by Play...
4:00 PM The first squall line moved through about 1/2 hour ago. I waited till it stopped, ran to the grocery store for some last minute supplies, and did one last sweep around the yard. If this keeps on its forecast track, it will go right up Charlotte Harbor, just like Charlie 4 years ago. They just got that place looking normal a year ago. I'm in Venice, about 30 miles North of Punta Gorda. That's about 20 miles closer than I was for Charlie, but I'm in a better built house. It's probably gonna get a little bumpy, depending on how close the eye comes to me. It's really not too bad unless you're within about 10 miles or so of the eye of a cat 1. The only thing I'm worried about is loosing power. The power goes out here when we get a 10 mph breeze. Hopefully if it does, it won't be for long.
UPDATE 7:00 PM
A whole bunch of nothing. I've been watching the rain shield approaching on radar, and just when it was looking like it was about 1/2 hour away, the leading edge stalled. Looks like I won't be getting much of anything till the morning.
UPDATE 7:00 AM
Not a drop of rain, although it is a little breezy. The rain is just to the south and east of us, it may not even get here at all.
UPDATE 3:00 PM
Still not a single drop of rain.

Thanks! Since you're still posting, I guess it didn't wash you away or cause you to rust.

I'll probably do the same next May when my time gets short. I don't think I'm going to renew then.
