I used to consider myself a guy than can deal very well with kids.
Not only do I teach capoeira to kids from age 4 - 44, I am also a very skilled babysitter... but this day today kinda killed me.
I agreed to take care of my cousins daughter, age 2, for most of the day. now how do you keep a kid that age at bay? I took her grocery-shopping (oh yeah, if you wonder how commercials and such things affect your buying habits, I suggest you take little kids with you some time...)... about 15 minutes later, everything that had bright colour had landed in my shopiing cart, while I was looking for some mushrooms...another 5 minutes and a couple of "youre so mean"-faces later everything was back in place...well, almost: little smarty snuck a huuuuge bag of "gummibaerchen" (some jelly sweets) into my cart, hiding it under the very same mushrooms I just got. No idea how she did that....
well, after a little drama about my dog (a french bulldog) she was scared of, we ended up in the car, heading to the zoo... we spent a couple of hours there, and its been quite a while since Ive been watching animals caged....on one hand, really depressing, on the other hand, its beautiful to see such amazing beings swing, slither and swim around...
back home, quick lunch, more drama over a little nap ("noooooooooooooooooo, mummmyyyy, i dont wanna sleeeeep, im not tired!!!", etc.)...and we were off to the pool... now since she already started nagging back home, I figured it was time to bust out some maaaaad babysitting skills...always working: driving!
so while we were on our way, I slipped in a couple of detours, and, guess what, suddenly little miss sunshine was sleeping like a rock. good! 30 minutes of relaxation time for me too
at the pool, we took a short dip and then headed to the childrens playground...good times
the rest of that day isnt really worth telling...but let me say this: time flies when youre out there entertaining someone...
I figured I still love kids, but I also love it when theyre not around....
