Growing up with a tech. savvy father has allowed me to embrace, and even be enthusiastic about technology, but these days, it really makes me want to pull out my hair... especially in relation to dating. There's nothing more -fantastic- than perusing through the internet and you happen to find out something not so pleasant about someone that you're dating. Of course, it could save me in the long run, but still it is like "Oh no! I could have done without knowing that!" I mean, it isn't as though I found out something completely dreadful, like he's married, or he killed someone, or what have you. But the point is not so much what I discovered but how technology just makes dating so complicated. Between texting, instant messaging, myspace, facebook, etc... there are way too many modes of communication these days. What happened to the late night phone calls, the little notes back and forth... actually meeting up face to face. For once I'm going to sound like I am 85 and say: I miss the simpler times.
Mmm it has been raining tonight and it sounds absolutely lovely. I'm going to go enjoy it while it lasts... along with my six pack of Odell Red-Ale (go Colorado Microbrews!).
