Gemini Wonder Twins Birthday Bash Aftermath
Last night was easily the highlight of the year thus far for me. Maybe one of the best days of my life. I'm so glad I didn't back down from throwing the Gemini Wonder Twins Birthday Bash. It went off better than I'd even dared hope. I had figured on there being around 30 or so people. I planned for 50 to be on the safe side. All told, just from the guest register that I had people signing as they arrived, there were well over seventy people in attendance. DJ Gateway and DJ Extreme did a great job in the DJ booth despite the fact that there was hardly anyone dancing for most of the night. The frolic room didn't get much action either, but the dungeon got plenty of use in the latter half of the evening and so did the lounge. Most people, though, lingered around the patio where they could smoke and had access to the keg. I got to have some long needed face to face, heart to heart time with Little Kendra. There was a minimal amount of drama and nothing really went wrong all night long. Pretty much everyone seemed to have a great time, evidenced by the fact that I couldn't go ten minutes without three or more people telling me how great the party was. If only I could make a living from throwing parties. I'm apparently developing a knack for it.
As it turns out, the party wasn't quite as financially crippling as I'd feared. Some guests were particularly generous in their donations, for which I am extremely grateful...especially to Karis, Little Kendra, Molly, and Tori. So, while the party still ended up costing me quite a lot, it wasn't nearly as much overall as I'd expected.
Unfortunately, there were a few downsides to the evening. Debra dropped our cellphone in the toilet and now it's completely shot. That's a major expense we could have done without. She and I also had a small fight as we were packing up. I also had a small fight with Brenda over her being pissed off at Mark for something that I thought was neither any of her business nor was she being fair. I wish Debra had spent more time with me but was generally preoccupied with wanting to beat people or being beaten in the dungeon. I failed to do much picture taking so I don't have as many good pics as I would have liked of the party. There were several people I wish I'd given more attention to. I would have liked to have gotten a little more action. Other than those minor issues things went really well.
Maybe I'll do it again sometime with a bit better planning and better funding if I haven't worn out my welcome with this party. Not anytime soon, of course, but maybe next year. We'll just have to see.

I was kinda hoping I could come up to your party, but got stuck down here this weekend. Looks like it was a blast though.
Do we have an accord?
