Narnia And Hexxt
Things have been going amazingly well overall with Brenda being here. She and Debra have been getting along great and Debra has said that shes felt a lot less stressed out since Brenda joined the household. I think Ive been doing an okay job of giving them both their fair share of attention.
Saturday was fantastic. Brenda watched the kids while Debra and I went to see The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Brenda had already seen it so I didnt feel too bad about her having to stay behind. I was very nervous about seeing the movie given that the book had been one of my treasured childhood memories. It was the first novel I can remember reading. My mother had given me the whole Chronicles of Narnia in a box set. Fortunately it was a set that still had The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe as the first book because honestly I never really cared much for the other books in the series and Im not even sure I read past the first five.
Amazingly, Debra had never read any of the books so I was really interested to see her take on the movie since it would be unfettered by expectations. We both really liked the movie. It didnt slaughter my childhood memories. The effects were great. I cried a river at the scene of Aslan at the stone table. All in all I was very pleased.
After the show, after spending some time with the kids and such, Kendra watched the kids for us so that Debra, Brenda, and I could go to Hexxt. That was great fun. We picked up some Red Bull and Vodka and I got pretty loaded trying to drink it all up so that Debra wouldnt end up drinking too much. Ironically, Debra actually managed to pace her drinking really well for a change so getting myself blitzed was rather unnecessary but it was still fun. I met some cool new people and got to have some good conversations with some familiar faces I dont see too often. We had some interesting times in the lounge that were just barely risqu enough for a sex filter post.
Unfortunately, the aftermath of our fine night of fun was that Chris has pretty much disowned Debra because she made out with a guy. He took her and me off of his friends list, just as he did several months ago when Debra said she didnt want to have sex with him (this was long before they were dating). He sent holier-than-thou emails telling her what a bad person she was. If thats the kind of person he wants to be about things then shes better off without him in the end. There were some fine times but Chris never accepted Debra for who she wasalways for who he expected her to become.
