Today is the fist of 3 days in a row, that i'm looking forward for every year!
DOW (Dudelange On Wheels) is one of the year's biggest skate events in the Benelux area.
whoever's interested in sk8, BMX, Inline, Snake or you name it, is mostly welcome today, tomorrow and sunday.
YOU WANT MORE??? HERE'S MORE!!!
for me, this is always a bid thing. i don't skate. ... at all! but still i love to shoot some sk8 photos every year. since many people already take the typical skate pictures, i'm trying something special every year.
one year, i shot everything with a wide angle lens and a flash-on-a-stick

or one year i reverted the "speed" trick where you follow the skater, so you feel the speed in the photo. this is what this could look like in reverted mode
last year, i used a 85mm tilshift (manual) or one year i opened op my 50mm 1.2 M lens and thot everything with an open aperture. of course, when you use an open 1.2 lens, or a tele-tiltshift and in manual mode, there's a pretty small chance to get a sharp picture
this year it'll be my lensbaby, and i've decided that i'll exeptionnaly NOT photoshop my pictures except for cropping them to 1:1 .... although i'm not yet sure if i got this idea out of pure laziness, or maybe out of some artistic thought... i'll have to decide that when i get home and see what i feel like!
honestly: i have no idea what to do next year... the rules are to do something impossible for sports photography (most times focus problems). so if enyone has a very stupid idea on how NOT to make photos of skaters: let me know
