I see the light! The light at the end of the tunnel for this year of uni. There are only 4 weeks left till summer holidays begin and I am slowly beginning to see the end as I complete each assignment slowly and steadily. I have worked on so many films this year, it's incredible. The Adelaide Film Festival started this week and one of the films I worked on premiered on the first night. I didn't get to go see it though cause I had to work so that kind of sucked, but hopefully I will get a chance to go see it sometime soon. If anyone is in Adelaide go to the festival, there are so many talented new artists emerging this year. The film I worked on is called 'Welcome to Iron Knob', directed by Dave Wade. I did some of the production design and set building for the film. But you probably won't see my name in the credits :(
I've been heaps busy with work this week as well. My supervisor is away so I had to cover most of her shifts, which is annoying the way that I couldn't be home doing my own work, but good as it means my boss must feel that I'm slightly good and not shit. I haven't been yelled at by the head chef all week so I must be doing something good.
Cannot wait to get out of hospitality though. The muscle knots I've been getting in my back and neck keep coming back every monday after working weekends. It's fucking retarded. The pain in my back woke me up 3 nights in a row. Had to take a bunch of panadol to get back to sleep. And then last night there was a loud as banging sound outside... all night! I noticed it just as we got into bed. It was in pairs and sometimes threes. I was convinced that there was an alien invasion outside and that it was the sound of their lazer beams, but my boyfriend went outside to check it out and he thinks it was a shed door left open. I finally got to sleep but then got woken up by him because I was crying and squirming around in my sleep having a nightmare. I was freaked out! And in that state I started thinking of all the things that could be in the shed to make the door bang... like dead bodies and monsters. Every time I closed my eyes to try and get back to sleep I kept seeing the horrible things from my dream. It was not a pleasant night. When we woke up this morning the banging was still going. Hopefully it won't continue tonight or I'll have to kill some kents.
Anyway I have to go to work now. Hopefully that wasn't too painfully boring. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get back to sleep after a scary dream?? I'd love to hear them.
