I hate anyone who walks around acting like Eragon and Eldest are good books
The terribly written book by a prepubescent C. Paolini is now being made into an even more terrible movie. Eragon is a book which features a hero named "Eragon" (not to be confused with Aragorn), corrupt humans, immortal elves, greedy mountainous dwarves and evil dragons; very original. Ask a junior high student to rewrite LOTR and you get Eragon.
I'm sick and tired with people walking around with these books. Don't people realize that they are reading stolen material? There is all this bullshit in the news about anti-piracy this anti-cracking that and here comes Paolini and decides to hold Lord of the Rings and Star Wars up to a mirror and calls it his own. Come on! At least be original with the names here. Eragon!?? DOESN'T THAT REMIND ANYONE OF ARAGORN?
Here are some other brutally ripped names and species in both Eragon and Paolinis first book, which in my opinion is even worse of a rip:
-Elves and Dwarves are very very very similar to Tolkien's
-Urgals=Orcs
-Kulls=Uruk
-Ra'zac=Nazgul
The author also goes on random tangents about describing where elves and dwarves live like its so fucking original. Readers have to suffer through pages and pages of this copied dribble. I seriously think that on all descriptions he should have just written: "See J. R. R. Tolkiens, The Lord of the Rings, Two Towers, Page X" to save us the time and save him the energy required to copy out entire chapters.
Now lets talk about the story. The name of this book should technically be called "The Lord of the Star Wars" due to the content being stolen by LOTR and the story being stolen from Star Wars. Lets take a look:
Eragon is Luke Skywalker, Morzan is Darth Vader, Brom is Obi-Wan Kenobi, Oromis is Yoda, King Galbatorix is Emperor Palpatine, Roran is Leia, etc.
The revelation about Morzan being Eragon's father was so obvious that I nearly laughed aloud at that part. Murtagh becoming an evil dragon rider and Roran getting a huge part in the book was to be expected, too. Nasuada becoming the leader of the Varden, another war to fight, etc...I expected them to happen. Why? Because I watched Star Wars.
And finally, lets talk about the vocabulary of this beautifully written novel. The first thing anyone notices is that words on the SAT vocab list appear every few sentences. I was constantly reminded of those little kid books that teach you how to read ('see jake walk, see jake run, see jake run fast, see jake's dog', ect) Even worse, these words appear in conversations. Even when Paolini doesn't use such words, the dialogue contains sentences like "Brom was of the same opinion." -pg 202. Why not "Brom thought so, too." or anything as simple? The worst of the worst when it comes to Paolinis writing is actually in his first book 'Eragon' which I think he wrote when he was ten years old. There is actually a sentance that says: " 'Sorry' appologized Brom." How brutal is that!? Thats the biggest rule of writing. You never sum up dialog in a description after the dialog has already been said! Thats the same thing as having each character say every line twice! I wouldn't mind so much if something like this appeared few times, but the book is filled with such conversations.
All in all, I can't believe Fox is making this movie. It will probably be very popular as nobody seems to have a problem with Paolinis bullshit and that makes me angry. Eragon is a terrible book, Eldest is a terrible book, Eragon will be a terribly popular movie and I hate Christopher Paolini.

... noted. I won't read it, or see it. Sad when people have to copy something brilliant like that to be someone. Are they just lazy? Problem is is that it will probably do well because the overall public is studpid. Don't get me wrong I love people, but they are stupid... most are just content to follow the crowd, do all the same things to try to stand out, and entertain themselves with mindless entertainment.

Actually it sounds exactly like the kind of tripe Fox puts out.....
