ok so actual update time. well today is final's day for me and i have to go take mine in about 4 hours or so. i'm glad to be done with it for this semester. damn am i tired lately. alot worse than the usual, i need to get a steady sleep pattern established. even as i write that i know that it won't happen. well i've finally been able to catch a couple of movies lately and since thats my main hobby i'll caryy on about those now.
WALK THE LINE- well after it being out for nearly a month i finally got around to seeing this and.........joaquin phoenix is johnny cash. he plays it so perfectly through out the entire film. as much as i usually dislike reese witherspoon, she is sensational as june in the film. it's the best performance of her career and will get her an oscar nom for sure and don't be suprised if she wins it. the film slightly dips into movie of the week mode in the second half but it's quickly pulled out of it by phoenix. the scene when cash plays folsom is pure gold.
syriana- this one of most anticipated films of this winter and for the most part it paid off. i'm not even going to attempt to explain the plot here. i'll say it involves, crooked politicians, the cia, lawyers, muslim fanatics, finacial advisors and our interest in a whole lot of oil. the story weaves in and out through all the characters and never sticks with anyone or any part of the story for very long, so if you see this stay sharp and pay attention. alot of my co-workers who is aw it with said it was too hard to follow and they couldn't understand it, but they're rent that smart either. if you pay attention you'll be able to follow it. clooney is really the stand-out in the film as a cia agent who operates very covertly until it dosen't work anymore for our government. overall syriana has alot of good things to say about greed and big oil without straying to far to the right or left. the plot could of been a little less convulted, but i guess thats sort of the point too.
king kong- so i saw this last night (well actually at like 3 this morning) as much as i dislike the big hollywood spectacle films, the brash huge budget extravaganza's this one was perfect. as it's become blatantly obvious jackson is a master at crafting these kind of films and this one is as good and maybe better than anything else he's done. it's filled with action and suspense and done so in a classic and compelling way. all the actors are spot-on in the film, the script it tight and when it was over it really didn't feel like three hours. the way jackson builds the relationship between kong and anne is great. with the special fx technology now kong has the ability to really have emotions. oh and to just jump off subject for a second, skull island was fantastic it was filled with some of the most disgusting insects i've ever seen in a film. well i don't want to spoil too much of it, the film is int he end a tragedy and most everyone knows how it ends. the ending in this one was really impactful and i suspect there will be more than a few people exiting in tears. overall kong is the best big budget hollywood epic i've seen in years.
so if you've managed to meander your way through all of that i thank you and go catch a film this holiday season!!!!

Still water here, thank you for asking.
Now, the mall before Xmas. Godspeed. I've done it. I rather miss having a local mall sort of.
Now...I gotta update....the greatest quote of the week came during the last 15 minutes of my shift (reguarding one of the above parties)...I think you will go nuts. We need to figure out how to get me equipment to start filming my documentary.
Oh boy. Talk to you soon!
