Wooooohoo!
I'm supremely glad they've implemented the final tweaks in the SG interface which were bugging me. The friends and 'fave girls' list ABOVE the journal! Hurrah! Well done team!
Well? The weekend to end all weekends just shot by... I'm a little too bewildered by recent preceedings to be completely ecstatic but feeling 'damn happy' would be a cool phrase to use
Friday morning, I got a call from a guy who I'd posted my CV to a few days earlier. He'd said how impressive my cv was and would like to see some of my designs regarding the the design assistant's job at his IT firm. He asked if I could pop down later that afternoon. I figured out where the firm was located (about 10mins on the bus from my house!!!) and headed off. To cut a long story short, he said the post had changed from "Design Assistant" to "Lead In-house Designer" and asked if I was competent enough to handle the role. After looking at many examples of my online and printed works he HIRED me on the spot. I start on thursday, when my desk and computer arrive
Later on Friday, I headed out to the nearest cashpoint... A pain in the arse to get to BTW. Jimmy Giro had left me some 'spends' , so I was off. You couldn't see me for dust! We decided to go see Blue Demon (the best band in the world) and my other personal fave Goldblade play at The Masque in Liverpool. Awesome gig! Afterwards, We got talking to the fantastic John Robb and Johny Knuckles of Goldblade who invited little old me to a special 'guests only' gig. It's in the new clothes shop the band and entourage are opening in Manchester, soon. My invite's on its way! I am truly humbled. Lovely people!
Saturday was a bit of 'geek-fest' of unparalleled depths. I went to Telford in Shropshire with mates for a convention/exhibition of model-making and artwork. I bought a model Pontiac GTO '67 (the meanest car in the fucking world, of course ). It was late leaving, the temperature had dropped to a 'rural' 0c (realistically -3c) The fog closed in, as if to chastise us for such a brash display of 'nerd-dom' and the visibility dropped to 4ft. NEVER EVER let Wainy drive you at 70mph along country farm tracks in the fog... I fucking shat it!
Sunday, I was roped into putting on an amateur dramatics programme for Cub Scouts where we put on a mini drama with songs and rhymes. Very rewarding. Even sure the little harpies and hellions... SORRY! - 'angels' got something out of the day. It took a while to steer their tiny minds from "bum and fart" rhyming gags, but it wasn't too bad in the end. Tiring but great fun. I finally returned home today to find Mum's gone on a mattress purge, in the house. All new mattresses in every bed (including mine). I'll look forward to jumping into mine very soon! Mmmmmm. Posh, new comfy bed. Nothing better!
I'm off to listen to my rare punk vinyl, and sample it to cd ... "YOUNG SAVAGE!!" Ultravox (briefly) kicked so much ass... Yay!!! Fantastic!
Once I get used to the new 'approval' system on my friends list and it's pernickerty foibles, expect a journal crash from me in the near future! Big kisses to everyone
Take care! xxxx v78 @_@

I demand that we meet for beer sometime around the holidays, so that you can tell me all about the new job, and I can nod and make encouraging noises whilst downing pint after pint of the amber stuff.
Now excuse me whilst I fuck off to a design/architecture show en route to the Therapy? gig.
