Journal update...
Well.. I survived a rather odd few days, which saw much more cycling, much drinking and attending of barbeques!
Bear in mind, this journal entry will be even more disjointed and awkward to scan than usual, on account of me just waking up after little sleep... OOoeoorrrgg.
Thursday, I cycled to Runcorn Old Town to see my mates and to go to el cinema. The "pirate film" was an insipred choice and was well worth the journey. Strangeness happened afterwards when neil gave me two hours swordfighting lessons with (REAL antique) 17th Century Cavalry Sabres. Its just the kind of thing you expect your band members to have lying around their houses. In sheer frustration at my weak arms and slowness to grasp the basics I got a sword swipe to my flank and a bruised knuckle. Very painful, but not very impressive, I have to say...
Friday, I cycled back as far as Warrington and went to check on our drummer kev, who is now out of plaster, following his motorbike accident. He was hale and hearty so we all went for a jaunt though Bigg Wood, before I headed home. My cycling pace has knocked a good 20 mins of the time it took last week, and i was a lot less dishevelled, by the end....
Saturday, hypnotically lovely Julia popped over to take me to a barbeque, which was really good fun.. Its alway an odd experience arriving at a 21st birthday of someone you've only met through acquiantances and guess the 'family vs friends' ratio of the throngs! Very good food though. Was dragged kicking and screaming to Rockworld via insistent txt messages to "be there or be DEAD" for Wainy's birthday night! It was good to see everyone, though, especially Becky, who looked a bit dischuffed at me returning to barbeque. Really sorry about that.. It definitely was Julia's aim to get back to the party so she could claim back all the uneaten food she brought!!! All in all, it was very entertaining and really nice to catch up with some folks I hadn't seen for a while!!!
Mum and Dad are back now, so no more of my sisters partys to keep me from my beauty sleep... Nice to see em again! I didn't enjoy informing the fath' about the collapsing chimmney stacks over the kitchen.. Err, they're now leaning at about 15 degrees from vertical and merely held together by ivy alone! The parents had a really good time walking the coastal paths down in Weymouth and all those places... Caught the sun a bit.. Apparently it was rather warm down south... Not here though!!!
I've had enough of typing now, and not nearly enough caffeine, so I will draw this lacklustre entry to a close...
Just to send out my warmest regards, mighty, manly hugs, soppy kisses, dignified handshakes and pleasantries to everyone who's earnt all that.. Bugger, thats pretty much everyone then.... Right! Off I go... etc...
v78 @_@ xxxxxxxxx
ps... Pihka, I'll start a *decent* pic of you tomorrow, since i reckon i could just about do it justice!!!
pps... Many congratulations on your exam results Becky!! Surely thhis calls for a celebratory drink, fairly soon!!! Don't work too hard!! Follow my example! ...Actually, not the best move you could make!
