So the guitar band played our last hometown show on the 14th. It was awesome, but also sad. Our last show ever is coming up on the 30th at the Garage in Winston-Salem. Of course, in a million ways I will be relieved, but I am going to miss it. It's been five long years and has defined who I am as a musician more than anything else has. I am fairly certain that it has been a phenomenon the likes of which I will never again be a part. I offer teary-eyed thanks to everyone who has supported and encouraged my musical endeavors over the years, especially StrangeX (sine qua non) and Al (for starting down the path of darkness really just for me, and for her heartfelt assertions that I wasn't just making an overblown, pretentious, self-absorbed ass out of myself).
I'm going to have a big empty spot. I hope something productive with which I can fill it comes along.

Anyway, you should read House of Leaves so we'll have something else to talk about during the day.
