So, I'm sitting out on my front stoop, reading a book that's shaping up to bear a fundamental resemblance with what is possibly my favorite book of all time, drinking gin and tonic, and the yard is shady and the weather is perfect. UPDATE: Now it's late at night, and there's thunder and lightning all over the place. Where I grew up, it thundered about twice a year. It's still exciting, even though it happens every day here.

Yep, happens about twice a year around these parts as well and I got half an hour's worth this evening. I stopped making dinner/watching hockey so I could hang out on the back porch and watch the sky for 15 minutes.

too bad my husband had a vasectomy. the only reason I was on it was to help my cramps/pevlic pains and so I didn't have a period.
