Updates!
Relationship stuff: hard to say. Things are definitely better than they have been, but still not where I want them to be. Some days are good, some days are less good. I think it's getting better, though, and am going to feel good about it.
D&D: I feel like making my character was kind of a fiasco, but I think things are mostly settled now, and I'm looking forward to this week's session. Hopefully, now that all the character sheet is correctly filled in I will be able to play without feeling like a jerk for holding up the game on my turns.
Video games: I just bought Civ for the DS. I have tried a few Civ games before, but I didn't have the patience when I was younger, and when Civ 4 came out I felt like I was hopelessly behind the curve. I take my DS with me everywhere, and hopefully it will work out great to catch some Civ turns whenever I have spare time. Also, guitar hero DS? Weird.
Stuff you almost certainly did not want to know about: I had athlete's foot. Like the late Mitch Hedberg, my first thought was "That's not *my* fucking foot!" I don't go to the gym, and I hate walking barefoot, so I'm not sure how I got it. I suspect that my furry little feline friends were somehow involved. Anyway, after a week of treatment it seems pretty much in submission.
Music: After several years of letting my musical muscles (literally and figuratively) go soft, I have been feeling a strong need to get them back in shape. I have been playing guitar daily, and several of the songs that I started practicing on guitar felt better on the piano, so I have been playing on it too. I wish that I had some room to set up my electric guitar and amp, but at the moment there is not a good spot for it. My electric guitar, the first musical instrument that I ever owned, named Artie after the strongest man in the world, is just collecting dust under my parents' futon. I feel totally crappy about that, but at least I am playing something.
Books: I have read Dune several times, and every time I read it I can hardly wait to read it again. However, only the first time did I actually try and read the sequels. Then, I read the second book (out of momentum) and threw down the third in disgust. Well, I'm trying again. As before, I plowed through the second book on sheer momentum, but I am enjoying the third book a lot more than I did the first time. I cannot guarantee that I will finish it, and I do not know if I aim to finish all of Herbert's sequels, but I'm feeling good about it.
Okay, off to start a game of Civilization: Revolution. Good night, SG.

Cons last forever, so I always end up wearing the same pair for years and years.
I guess all of my bullshit psychological stuff just likes to get out at night. Or in my dreams. I had a dream last night so intense I actually woke up exhausted, and that sucks. I should try telling myself to have good dreams, too!
