In which Chris breaks his self-imposed SG exile.
I love George Michael. Yes, really. As such, all readers should listen to "Careless Whisper" while reading this post. Or after. Whenever, really.
There has been a nasty melancholy in the Oklahoma air lately, along with a rogue Influenza B strain against which the vaccine is powerless. The yo-yo weather (shorts yesterday! snow today!) has left everyone exhausted. Now that Fuckoff Ice Storm '07's ridiculous tree damage is mostly cleaned up, the once-familiar landscape is scarce and scarred and empty, and people have the same look on their faces. I know too many couples split up, divorced, or suffered general relationship turbulence during February 08. Fortunately, I am not a member of such a couple.
Friday was the first anniversary of my four-year relationship. It would ordinarily call for massive celebration, but for the fact that my wonderful girlfriend is studying in France this semester. So the day's excitement consisted of a skype call and an appearance of my friend's 8th birthday party. I admit, towards the end of the night I kinda got on the "my girlfriend has been gone for two months and will be gone for three more months!" trip. I went home and spent some time indulging in rye whiskey and self pity. But Saturday was really nice (except for that pesky 30-mph breeze), and I spent some time driving around and cleared my head some.
In totally random news, my ex-girlfriend just messaged me to see if I could send her Disc 1 of Jesus Christ Superstar. Sorry, Hon, I don't have it.

Glad to see you, honey.
