My computer has been suffering. I got a bigass hard drive for it (Seagate barracuda 750 GB 7200), but I realized that my power supply does not have any SATA power cables. Then... okay, let me back up. In addition to my broken XP install, the machine has had problems with the chipset fan for a while. It was never really a problem, but it...

I realized today that my student loans are not nearly enough to cover my law school expenses. This is a harsh revelation, as I'm starting a week from today. Maybe my parents can help me out. Maybe I'll have to take out a sizable private loan. Maybe both. However it works out, I am committed to this decision and intend to make it work for...

Updates!

Relationship stuff: hard to say. Things are definitely better than they have been, but still not where I want them to be. Some days are good, some days are less good. I think it's getting better, though, and am going to feel good about it.

D&D: I feel like making my character was kind of a fiasco, but I think things are mostly settled...

I'm not sure actually, I suppose at the very least I could work for AmeriCorps and spend my free time trying to do a TON of photosets for SG!

Cons last forever, so I always end up wearing the same pair for years and years.

That book thing is a good idea! I should try that, when I can afford to buy books, that is.

I guess all of my bullshit psychological stuff just likes to get out at night. Or in my dreams. I had a dream last night so intense I actually woke up exhausted, and that sucks. I should try telling myself to have good dreams, too!

I have been actively resisting it my entire life, but today I am finally going to give in and play D&D.

Welcome to the world of Geekdom!

Are you gonna be playing 4.0 or an older version?

I knew it was going to be hard, but that doesn't change the fact that it's hard.

Elaboration is for sissies.

In 16 hours I will be on a plane, which will take me to another plane, which will take me to France. My girlfriend has been gone for just over five months, and her semester is finally over and I am going out to visit her and help her move back.

My feelings on the matter are...complicated. For the first few months I missed her...

The pet thing is so annoying, I am constantly finding places that'd be great, but they don't allow pets.

I took tomorrow off without realizing that Monday is Memorial Day. My 3-day-weekend is actually a 4-day-weekend! It's like winning the lottery, only with time off work. Despite the fact that much of the weekend will probably be spent hauling boxes and furniture (why is everybody I know moving at the same time?), I look forward to four consecutive days without work.

You know, the funniest thing about it is that I used to date a guy who was almost 9 years older than me, and I always whined that he went to bed too early and got up too early.

So now I'm in the opposite role.

I just got home from a hootenanny.

Yes, there was hay.

You midwesterners and your windstorms. Watch out that you don't end up in Oz!

Humility is clearing your old bedroom of shit that has been collecting dust since 8th grade.

I went to bed really late last night, not because of DST but because I was compulsively reading through all of these notes that had been hiding in the darkest corners of my old closet. Even though it has been 13 years for some of these, I still feel...

In which Chris breaks his self-imposed SG exile.

I love George Michael. Yes, really. As such, all readers should listen to "Careless Whisper" while reading this post. Or after. Whenever, really.

There has been a nasty melancholy in the Oklahoma air lately, along with a rogue Influenza B strain against which the vaccine is powerless. The yo-yo weather (shorts yesterday! snow today!) has left everyone...

This February has been rocky for everyone. I'm glad to hear you made it through, though.

Glad to see you, honey.
