I hate retail.
I am very good at retail.
These 2 facts piss me off to no end. I must say that retail has been getting better since going to work for a company and a Manager I actually respect (Pacsun and Brenda respectively). I love this store and most of the people there. Right now, I am what is considered seasonal. Back to school is a season at clothes stores. I am hoping to stay on though. For the last 2 weeks, I have been ranked number 2 out of all the employees in the store as far as numbers (register work/sales) go. We have 2 constests going for sales in the store and I lead both of them. I just hope there is room for me to stay on.
Blossom is headed back over to Ft. Riley this morning. Check out her current journal to find out why. If she doesn't make it home by 2:30 today, we won't see each other until almost midnight.

VALEN'S DVD CORNER
Alright boys and girls, here is the momment you have all been waiting for. This is the first edition of my DVD review. Today's movie is:
John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness
This movie is beautiful. By that, I mean it is probably one of Carpenter's best looking pictures visually. He uses ever bit of the screen and there are very few wasted shots in this film.
Of course, when you lead the review off with how the movie looks, it usually means that the plot is the weak part of the film. Well it is, but not by much. Basically, an evil entity is found contained in the basement of a Catholic church. The evil turns out to be Satan himself, who is now trying to become free and bring about the Anti-God.
Prince of Darkness has a Night of the Living Dead feel to it. The main characters become trapped in the church by possessed homeless folk (zombies) while the evil grows from within.
Also, it wouldn't be a Carpenter flick with his usually cast of actors. This film is no exception. They come from other Carpenter films as Escape from New York, Halloween, They Live, and Big Trouble in Little China. The only person missing from this film is Kurt Russell.
The only special feature to speak if is a trailer. I would say rent and burn this one unless you are a John Carpenter freak like I am.

it was gonna be me, my b/f and his father getting an apartment, but we were gonna use my student loan refund money to pay security deposits and such, now i'll probably have to use that money to pay bills instead
Ohhh I like this DVD of the day thing. That is a neat idea.
