I am watching "President" Bush at a live news conference right now, and I still can't believe that this jackass is in charge of this country. Here are some points I have heard so far:
*We must stay in Iraq to justify and validate that soldiers who have been killed so far by continuing to fight and kill. He called this war the defining moment of our generation. My comment is that he is correct in this, but it will define us in the the same way that Vietnam has defined our parents' generation.
*We must move away from oil to nuclear power (which he calls clean and safe). He the chastized Iran for it's Nuclear program. Huh?????? Why do we have the right to make demands on other nations that we are either unwilling to follow or flat-out actively contradict. He scoffed at Iran making the demand that they will meet with us only after we leave Iraq, but saw no problem making the same kind of demands on them. Fucking hypocrit. Also, which country is the only one to ever use a nuclear bomb in a combat situation? It's not Iran.
*He tried to send the Irsn people a message that they should cast off their warmongering leader and not isolate themselves in the world. Hmmm, maintaining wars and not following the wishes of the international community and the UN. I think I have heard this one before.
*He is fucking blind. He seems unwilling to admit to anyone (maybe even himself) that his policy in Iraq has FAILED. He wants to blame everything on the dirty Muslim extremists. He talks about the multiple groups that are acting as terrorists to get us out of that country. He says over and over that he wants a free Iraq. It seems to me that Iraq has choosen freely, and they want us out.
*I miss Bill Clinton.
*God he sounds like such a country bumpkin. It is almost painful to listen to. As a 26 year old, I think it is painfully sad that I feel more intellegent than the "president" as I listen to him. It is like watching Andy Griffith or Jethro Bodine play President.
*Bush half-smiles during most of the question and answers. I'm sorry, but when talking about the slaughter of our people and those in Iraq and around the world, how dare he. This is neither funny nor cute. The boy next door, hand in the cookie jar routine doesn't fucking fly right now! Act like the President!!!!!!!
I can't watch any more of this......
