I wish I could be like Walt Whitman sometimes. Not dead, mind you, but full of hope and faith in the value of America. Whitman loved this country. You could say he was In Love with America. He had absolute faith that Americans would choose the best path and help their fellow man. He thought the Presidents would be shining examples of our potential, and our poets would bring about a new age of thought and enlightenment. He believed in the common man and our potential for greatness and ability to overcome all. Most of all he felt, in the end, that we would all become equal in all ways.

Fuck you George W Bush for killing that dream. You have done more to destroy this country than any terrorist ever could. You have set back equality and race relations potentially decades. You have made Amercans a group to be feared and despised around the globe. Fuck you for killing hope.
