I was reading back issues of Dan Savage, and I discovered that there's an award for sex-positive journalism! It's called The Sexies, and you can nominate articles written in 2007 until March 23.
So, as a sex writer, I'm asking you to nominate someone whose work in this area is great. I'm a huge fan of Savage Love, personally, but I'm selfishly nominating myself. It'd be awesome if somebody else nominated me, too, but I'm not going to take it too hard if no one does. I just like the idea of there being an award for people who promote sex-positivity and try to take a look at a difficult subject without resorting to interviewing Christian right-wingers for their sound bites.
Anyway, if you think I'm worth nominating, there are at least two stories from my column that I think fit their criteria (i.e. that aren't written from a first-person perspective):
* AIDS education (November 29, 2007)
and
* Play safe! (December 20, 2007)
Thanks!
