So I actually applied (I wasn't going to both because I was worried about being rejected and also because I've been so disillusioned about teaching lately) for a substitute teaching position at an "alternative" private school in town. They only have classes from Pre-K to 8 and one class for each grade level so the kids tend to be in classes with the same 16 or so people until they get into high school. It's kind of hippy. Huge organic vegetable gardens all over the grounds, bird feeders and science stuff all over the place. Etc. When I was in my practicum there, there was a student (in first grade) who had green streaks in his hair. So in other words, perfect for me!
So... (back on track!) I was practicuming (sounds dirty....) under the woman who is now the director of the school, and she was apparently very happy to hear from me and to receive my resume and pretty much offered me a position already (she is "putting [me] at the top of [her] list"). So later this afternoon after sending her a "thank you and I'm excited too" email, she responded that she just found out there would be an opening as the 2nd grade teacher starting this coming school year, and that she really hoped I applied for it...........
Yay!... I'm actually thinking about sticking with teaching for a while.... this is fun!
AND!!!!
On top of that, the guy who runs the High Adventure summer camp I talked to in January hadn't emailed me in almost two months, so I was starting to think that he'd forgotten or already filled the positions or something, but low and behold, I got an email from him this afternoon asking if I was still interested in working for them and that they could work around my school schedule. So I might be off to Colorado for a while this summer rock climbing and white water rafting and the like. That ought to be fun.... although it might kind of ruin my ideas for summer hair cuts and facial piercings... but maybe not... but probably (it's put on by the Boy Scouts of America)....
*huff* and I was just starting to get used to the idea of maybe having to make minimum wage again and having the chance to work at a florist and being randomly lazy.... kind of the bohemian lifestyle I always envied but was pushed too hard by my parents to ever actually live myself. (Needless to say, my parents are incredibly happy to hear that I have a serious opportunity to make "real" money this coming school year.... they were terrified by my sudden desire to completely drop their standards of living... god forbid!)
Anyway.. I'm actually excited about teaching again! Whoooo! *crazy amounts of dancing around the room (looking more like maniac hopping)*

I second the sentiments of the above.

Well, he would show me his boobies as well, and at the drop of a hat, but his weren't quite as nice.
