Hey all! I just wanted to share my latest additions to my cat family :)
Tigger and I just celebrated our 13 year adoption anniversary together! He has been by my side since I was 17, and I am so grateful for his little soul. He is a wonderful cat who I love with all of my heart.
Our little families newest members are Louie Bear, that chonky tuxedo boy and little baby Cholula, the tortie. Both of these cats just showed up in my backyard, I’m not sure where all of these cats came from but since January I have rescued about 7 cats. I kept two, gave one to my brother and got the others into no harm shelters on Long Island.
Ever since Ellie’s passing Tigger had been struggling with depression, they were companions for over 10 years. Cholula somehow snuck into the garage and had been living in there for about 5 days until I was able to trap her and bring her inside. Now she’s taken over being Tig’s little shadow. They sleep together and she follows him everywhere, yes even into the litter robot. Louie was a resident stray with his brother Bruno, both who would show up for food daily. One day they both showed up with some pretty bad injuries and after getting them medical care I decided to just keep them. Bruno looks a lot like a cat my brother had a while ago who unfortunately got sick, so I gave him Bruno who is now a very spoiled and well loved house cat. We are all going to visit Bruno soon, I think a family reunion will be good on everyone.
When Ellie, pictured above in her bed, passed I said I never wanted another cat because her loss and how she had to go was rough, but Cholula showed up at not even a month old and needed a family, on some level I think maybe Ellie sent her to us to help especially Tigger heal. He still misses Ellie, we all do, but we honor her memory every day and leave offerings at her alter. Cholula is also very Ellie coded, sometimes I wonder if maybe she is Ellie come back. No matter what I make sure all of the cats are happy, taken care of, well fed and shown so much love every single day.
Let me know if you want to see more of my cat adventures! There still a few random ferals or strays who show up for food or to just hangout in the garden. We have Jiji, an all black little boy and Rocky, a grey and white tuxedo boy both who I suspect are littermates to Cholula. There’s also the neighbors outdoor cat Stinky Baby, who if you check my Twitter account you can find pictures of her lounging in the yard :)
