So I've been all over the place doing all kinds of things lately and its been pretty F'n cool.
I went to my first NASCAR race as a VIP with Jack Daniels. The schwag and free food and drinks were sweet as were the seats, however the race was boring for the most part so we left early. Then all the craziness happened and the Jack car ended up wining!
Iron Man rules!!
Got to see DeVotchka with an adorably drunk Onyx23
Got to see Bela Fleck and Tony Trischka (seen here playing The Crow with and written by Steve Martin). Bela and Tony did a duo banjo show that was fantastic. I've been wanting to see them together for many years. They also played The Crow (which Bela wrote one a small part of) but sadly sans Steve.
Also got to experience my first rein faire at The Virginia Renaissance Faire on Pirate Weekend. This was great fun. In the course of watching a performance of Romeo and Juliet: Almost a Musical by The Mad Mechanicals I got pulled onto stage to play The Prince. In the haphazard due process I got to yell things, have my ass admired and I quote "You could bounce a shilling off that thing!" and got to give an evil eye to the Montagues and Capulets in a very David Caruso in CSI Miami taking of the sunglasses style.
Oh and btw Devotchka, Bela and Tony and the rein faire were a 3 day bender throughout central and eastern Virginia all with Onyx23.
Indiana Jones continues to be one of my heroes and this may be the best movie yet!!! Huzzah for digital midnight shows!
This past weekend included Sam Bush for free and then Bungalo 6 at my favorite bar Bogart's. Then a Richmond Kickers victory following by drinking and Apples to Apples (which I love) and late night punk rock pizza at Crusty's.
Sunday was shopping and more drinking and this time a late night punk rock sub at Crusty's with just Crusty and my friend Coz and us making fun of Far and Away and talking about future Crusty's ventures.
Monday was relaxing and i got to have dinner with Onyx23 and finally after all these years meet Elvis.
This weekend doesn't hold too much other than another Kickers game but the next 3 include 2 weddings, a Busch Gardens trip, possibly a beach trip and a return to the rein faire and a boys weekend in DC with my friend Rick before he deploys again.
So the super-long-time-coming-super-long blog update done.
