From Wikipedia: "Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging system to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately."
By this definition, and every other I have found; a single ON-TOPIC photoset posted to a group's photo section, with a single message describing it, posted to a pre-existing thread comes NO WHERE NEAR meeting this, or any other definition of spam that I can find.
I did hear from one person in a particular group, that group members posting an on-topic photoset is so rare, that any attempts by a group member, especially if you have Hopeful status, to do so, is automatically assumed to be spam, especially by members who apparently did not bother to read the accompanying post or even look at the pictures.
With such indiscriminate use of the word "spam," it is as if the word itself has actually become the thing that it claims to define. Indiscriminately calling group members, "spammers," really makes group member posters feel sooo welcome, and eager to post more, much less even remain in the group.
So, no mystery here as to why these sets are apparently so rare these days.....
