Hi there !
I carried out the HW since a moment, sorry thus it's time to catch up ! @rambo and @missy , here we go šø
4/29: List the most recent sexist/racist/classist/homophobic (discrimination of any kind) thing that you have encountered this week.
Of course I'm very sensitive to every kind of discrimination since I'm a convinced feminist and an anarchist so I hear this kind of bullshit often, especially at work and with my family. Otherwise I totally avoid people who are able to say such things. But the more recent thing happened to me yesterday and appeared in the shape of a commonplace street harassment. And my answer shows how it is sexist to the guy who walked up to me.
I was coming out from the subway station when a vegetable/fruit vendor looked at me climbing upstairs and saying "Madame Bonjour, Bonjour, Ća va ? (How you doing ?)" I ignored him and when he insisted. Then I yelled at him "WHAT IF I WAS A MAN ? WOULD YOU TALK TO ME ?" So he laid his eyes on his fruits and shut up. He did the same to a friend who joined me just after that, she ignored him. But overtime we passed in front of him together he looked down haha. Poor guy. I'm proud of my answer because it directly raises the question of sexism in street harassment.
5/13: Tell us about a time that you helped out someone in need, or a time when someone helped you when you were in need.
Some people I know from another Art school in France had a workshop in Paris and a girl haven't anywhere to house there during this time. I saw this on Facebook because a friend of her asked if anyone could help her. I didn't know her at all but I decided to accommodate her for the period she had to stay in Paris (2 days). The first night she was happy but me and my bf could see that she was a bit stressed by the situation so we cooked a huge dinner and invite her to play music with us after that. So she relaxed and had a good time finally !
5/20:What are your favorite beverages and why?
I love to drink soft alcohols ! And I just discovered the Picon BiĆØre with is basically know as a redneck stuff in France (if I can say that). It's delicious, it's just beer blended with an orange alcohol. It's soft but with only one drink you can be tipsy ! It's perfect for summer evening with friends.
Something more healthy now : Pure lemon juice with ginger and honey in decoction is such a magic potion. I assure you that if you drink a glass per day during winter you'll never get the flu or what. And it tastes really good.
6/10: If you ruled the world, what are the first 3 laws would you pass?
1. Discrimination shouldn't be experienced by anyone. I'm against all its forms : sexism, racism, homophobia, psychophobia, specism, agism, classism and validism. I'd like people to be raise in a peaceful approach. I'm convinced that it's only a question of education.
2. Laborism would be banished cause work wouldn't be fare. I think sincerely that if anyway could get an unconditional income every month people would be happier because their domestic work would be recognized and they shouldn't be forced to have a shitty job for a poor wage. It sounds crazy to me that many people think that work is a way to accomplish yourself. You should find what you like to do, how do you feel useful. It's proved that it works ! Also with all the automatisation of the services, human being won't have many thing to do for the "society" soon (like in 50 years max)so THAT'S the solution.
3. States wouldn't be allowed to sell weapons so the civil wars in the developing countries would stop and attacks too (living in Paris, i reflected a lot about all of this)
Also I think I would struggle against big data but I know that it would be hard to control... BUT, as I'm an anarchist, I NEVER would rule the world actually :'D
6/17: Random acts of kindness
I saved a lot of animals in my life : cats and birds mainly. Here's a baby cat I rescued two years ago. He was yelling in a bush in the night so I searched him everywhere but couldn't find it in the dark. I was so despaired cause he was clearly in distress I knew it by his way of meowing. So I came back to this place in the morning and asked the person who owned the bush (it was in a garden) if I could check it. I I took the baby cat out of the bush, wet and dirty. The person who allowed me to go in his garden don't wanted to take care of him so I did it for two weeks. I was in love ! But at this time I lived at my ex bf's and he didn't wanted to have an animal... A friend adopted the cat but my heart was broken. Now he's a tall and fluffy cat !
Recently I even took a caterpillar which was in one of my new plants (i live in the 3rd floor) to let her go in a garden in my street. My friends who where here at this moment where so amused and choked haha. My love and empathy for animals is truly limitless.
6/24: Tell us about a time when you won a contest or prize
When I was in highschool a contest of dot painting was attended by everyone (it's uncool but we where obliged to participate --') and I won the 3rd prize, among 300 participants. We had to paint a french landscape and I decided to chose a picture of a Basilique (like a kind of church) my dad took near from our place. The pic you see here has also been taken by my dad haha. I was happy but also so disgusted because the winner of the 1st prize (a travel in Hungary!) was a superficial girl who asked her big brother who was a painter to do this work for her. Maybe I would have been the 2nd but it was so unfair :'(
In my village (well, actually it's still a big one) there's an Art contest each year (a little Salon des Artistes) and I won the second prize for kids in the drawing/painting category when I was 13 (I drawn a b&w photo of the singer Pink playing piano from the back haha), and I won the first prize for adults in the same category when i was 18 with this large and disturbing painting ! The canvas is flat and only the eyes are in volume. So it's really like all those people are looking at you. I don't do this kind of realistic drawings and paintings anymore but maybe I could do something like this again with more abstract silhouettes.
7/29: What is the last ānewā thing you tried?
Take care of plants ! I always liked to have interior plants but recently I'm getting more involved, I've got more plants (cactuses, flower plants, succulents)..
I'm also trying to germinating plant seeds, even avocado pits. Now I've got a plot in a garden that I'm trying to cultivate with my bf :)
8/26: What is one thing you will never do again?
Last week I met a young photograph (he's an amateur) with who I was supposed to turn a video where I am tickled ! It was paid and I told to myself Ok it's a bit wtf but it can be interesting let's see ! So when I arrived I understood fast that this guy had a tickle fetish (!) and a foot fetish too. I realized then that this video was supposed to be "not so innocent";_; Later I understood that I had to be tied while I was tickled. The guy was really nice but I didn't felt so comfortable with all of this. I told him before that I didn't wanted to be alone while he does the video so he invited a girl that he didn't really know, from Tinder ! And she wasn't really happy to be here like I'm curious BUT what am I doing here ?
So the moment came, and I felt the same thing. At some moments I really laughed and the boy was tickling me so hard T_T but he held my feet so I was unable to free myself. I laughed also because it sounded absurd. But after like 10 minutes I asked to stop because I didn't felt that well. He was a bit disappointed and I hadn't been paid. I really thought I could do this, it was a personal challenge. But finally being tied and tickled by an unknown person - even a nice one - is DEFINITELY not my cup of tea !
That's all folks
Feel free to react and you hadn't yet don't forget to give love to my last set !
xoxo
