Out of the heat, out out of trouble. I have a nice sunburn to remind myself. We're back in the house where it's cooler, but that doesn't count for passions. My unit production manager Barb is back. She is a sweet lady, but on set she feels like she is mistreated, and makes sure everyone around her knows it. She also brings her personal problems with her.
The day starts off well. We make good time and shoot a brief scene outside the house. Ian is supposed to be shouting, and we do several takes, amazingly none of the neighbors come out and yell at us about the noise. Next we go back in the garage and film a quick scene. Then break. Easy right?
No. We do a quick scene in the kitchen. By now Barb is getting antsy. There are problems at home. She keeps talking about it, but everyone else is professional and needs to focus on their job. This is not the time or place. We finally wrap the kitchen scene. We take a another break to discuss the next scene. It's actually not to bad outside today so we hang out in the driveway to get some air.
Out comes Barb. She heads for her car, talking about her problems, and how she can't stay because of everything that is going on. We watch her go. I know she won't be back, and she won't. But I can't stop now, and turn everyone's focus to the next scene. We have a good crew and I can easily bump J.P to her position. I can't stop, we're halfway there and I can't let anything slow us down or dwell on it.
