the latest and greatest.....
our area of operations of the past 5 months is all but docile due to doing our job and doing it damn well. and being victims of our own success, they have decided to reward us by moving us to a new base in an area that is fairly hostile. yay. henceforth, i will have a new address. pretty much the same, but a little different.

all this time we have been fed stories that once october was over with, and winter months approached, the operational tempo would slow significantly down, however i have yet to see any proof of this as of yet. as a matter of fact, i might as well just get used to living in the mountains from here on out.
just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left. just over 2 months left.
this is what i have to tell myself over and over to keep me sane.
lately ive been craving a big mac like its cool. and now thanks to pinup , a spicy chicken sandwich from wendys.
anyways,....
our last op went fairly well, and although we didnt take as much contact as desired, one kill is still better than none.....
a certain mr. taliban wanted to sit on top of the hill and observe us then radio his fellow ragheads to set up an ambush on us, and after a few failed attempts to engage with him with our rifles, we decided it would be a good idea to call in for air support.
500 20mm rounds and 8 rockets later, the apache pilot gets on the radio and says "yeah, i took care of that little problem for you." heh. fucking army pilots.
needless to say, no ambush ensued after that show of force.
i wonder if one day, decades down the road, i will look back at times like these and smile, knowing that this stage in life i was doing what was important. what was right.....so that my children wont have to,

right the fuck on bra, good insight into the life of a deployed Marine.
(as she also suggested) You're totally getting a care package, because your journal is a good read...and most of my family has been in the Coprs.
Just lemme know what kinda snackypacks you like and the kinda of essentials that are on your list. I even have a stack of Maxim's I was gonna send out to that thing where they send 'em to the troops, but if you want 'em, they're all yours.
