There's a thin layer of ash covering my yard from the fires east of us. It's supposed to be 92 today. I don't think it's rained properly more than once this year. Not that I'm a big fan of rain, but sometimes I think I won't miss Southern California all that much.

Talking about the ash reminds me of the time when I lived in Norcal. Walked out the front door and the smoke was so thick it was like fog and the fire was miles away. That was one of the things I don't miss.
