Been a long time since a update, just wanted to post this:
Firefighters are those crazy people who run into a burning building when all others are running out. Firefighters are those people who wake up in the middle of the night to help an old lady, who fell out of bed. Firefighters are those people who work on half eaten meals because someone needed their help. Firefighters are those people who have a second family that seems just like a first family. Firefighters are those people who never usually get thanked for doing such a good job. Firefighters are those people who have to deal with people dying and people getting hurt. Firefighters are those people who have hearts bigger than the whole universe. Firefighters are those people who are always there in a moments notice when someone needs help. Firefighters are those people who may seem scary to little kids. Firefighters are those heroes that little kids always say that they want to be when they grow up. Firefighters are those people who are the unsung heroes. Firefighters are those people who very rarely get a "Thank You," but when they do it is always welcome. Firefighters are those people who are just always there. Firefighters are those that lie their life on the line everyday for others. Firefighters are those people who are never selfish. Firefighters are those that are brave. Firefighters are those who go into a building to rescue a brother, without even taking in the consequences that lie ahead. Firefighters are those who are at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men. Firefighter are those who are constantly giving of themselves, and expecting nothing in return. Firefighter are those who must rise above themselves to conquer the most overwhelming situations A Firefighter is the guy who lives next door. Who carries a pager on his hip and whenever it goes off, puts on his really cool lights and responds to the firehouse to respond on his truck, which maybe a Ladder, Tiller, Engine, Rescue, Heavy Rescue or so on. He puts on his fire gear and hopes that the alarm that he is responding to isn't anything serous that could hurt people or their property. While he is gone, he leaves his loved ones behind, and there might be a chance that he will never see them again. But that comes with the job, and they understand it. A Firefighters wife, Girlfriend or significant other has so much more in fear then anyone that you can think of. Cause they might never seem him again. But they know the awesome responsibility they carry when they go to that Activated Fire Alarm, CO2 alarm, smoke in the house, car fire, or even a report of a structure fire. So we respond there, do our job, and all the guys get back on that truck and come back, and debrief what happened. You wish you could tell others what you just saw, but it would mortify them. Or even the worse taken out by a rig. . . . So the next time you see that Firefighter, Thank him for what he does, you never know, he might one day give his life to save yours. Never forget our fallen brothers!
