Another new blog. Wow, I'm on fire.
First up, another brand new episode of the World of the Weird Monster Show is online! This is our second new episode with the super metal/awesome Salome as my co-host, the very, very adorable Romy. Another cool thing about this episode is it marks the first WOWMS appearance of one of my new favorite people Sauda who is just fantastically nice and sweet and cool. And just the right amount of geek. Where the hell was SG when I was like 23? But I digress, lol.
It's a fun episode and I've been thrilled with the way the show has been turning out. We're 1 show away from our 60th episode...which kind of astounds me. And the departure of Dementia as co-host was a big deal. She was a huge presence on the show as an iconic personality for a very long time and to change that up has destroyed many a television show over the years. I'll admit to some fears we wouldn't be able to pull it off (never doubt in Salome of course....just fear over so major a change.) I mean, we make the show, but ultimately it's the viewers out there who decide if they want to watch it or not.
But two episodes into Romy's introduction and I am so jazzed! I love the character of Romy and Salome is doing an amazing job--which is the usual for her. I mean, she is awesome. Everyone knows that right? And the change in character dynamics have energized the show and I'm further ahead in planning and scripts than I've been in like 2-3 seasons. I'm very, very happy. Always looking forward to each shoot.
Yes...I am over-analyzing a stupid, goofy horror host show
Here's the episode:
In other news, portions of our last episode, ISLE OF THE DAMNED:
will be included as "special features" on the German DVD release of the film! How cool is that?
Also, I've been doing some editing for Lloyd Kaufman and Troma for awhile now. I've edited some interviews for a "Produce Your Own Damn Movie" DVD box set which will be coming out in a year or so. Then recently Lloyd had me put together a piece taking footage from him talking about Media Consolidation to the suits in Washington as well the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors crowd here in Chicago. You know, intercutting between the two, etc. I just heard back he was pleased with that and so next up I'll be taking a ton of footage he has on Herschell Gordon Lewis and putting together a little piece/doc on him. Which is very, very cool. It's been really fun working for Troma and helping them out. It's been a great relationship so far that has benefited us both. Also, we have a demo in at Troma for an adapted version of our show for Troma DVDs. We'll see what comes of that. I know Lloyd was going to look at it hopefully this week.
So it's been a good week so far for the show! Now back to playing Resident Evil 5 (or maybe the new Left 4 Dead Survival pack! Sigh, I still haven't even played the Pitt Fallout 3 DLC yet. Nice to have so many great games out!)
Take care everyone.
