November 10th... hmmmmm. I actually didn't even know what day it was but when I looked I was pleasantly surprised. Wednesday is better than Tuesday but not nearly as good as Thursday. I'm a big supporter of Thursday. Today in history... 1969 "Sesame Street" premiers on PBS. This is a big day. Get out into the streets and shout "NEAR.................FAR". Without Sesame Street do you think we would have ever been blessed with the Muppet Show. Henson and crew cut their teeth teaching us children that it's ok to be different as long as you have a catchy theme song. Today of all days - Find that inner child. You know the one. That kid that giggled when ever Snuffalupogus lumbered away JUST before Mr. Hooper walked up. EVERY SINGLE TIME that one got me! So much tension... so much hitchcock-ian suspense. If it wasn't for this show I wouldn't have a clue how to count to 5 in english, french and spanish. Then again, without this show millions could have avoided ADD. How to learn in 30 second increments. CUT!!!!! 'Can you tell me how to get... how to get to Sesame Street...." Who could have predicted that only 6 years to the DAY later... 1975... the mighty ore ship Edmund Fitzgerald & her crew of 29 were lost in a storm on Lake Superior (the big lake they call Gitche Gumee) when the gales of November came early. Is there a dark rain soaked conspiracy afoot. Some twisted devious smoky blend of X-files and Mr. DressUp. I personally believe that Big Bird is an Illuminati operative working for the Colonel. That's Colonel Sanders of course. It is important that the truth come out. If you have ANY information I can be contacted at bigbirdgitchegumeeconspiracy_3@yahoo.com. Who would have thought that name had been taken by 2 other people before me. This thing is bigger than I thought. Beyond the conspiracy, this seafaring tragedy lead to one of the great Canadian contributions to the world of pop music. If I have to tell you the song and the composer... you're not worthy of knowing (and you certainly aren't Canadian). When you also point out that in 1989 Word Perfect 5.1 was shipped all one can do is sit back and be amazed. Phew!!! This day in history was brought to you by the number 3, 8, 11 and the letter K.
