TREATISE ON LOVE & EYEBALLS:
Eye contact happens, and lasts beyond awkwardly long. Well, it would be awkward in other situations, I should think. Distance between you and Person X is not of paramount importance, so long as you can see eachother's eyes in order to make the initial contact and prolong it.
It goes past whatever the accepted length of time for looking at someone else is. I don't have any exact measurements on that "acceptable length", but you know it when it happens.
So. Connection.
You are then faced with two options:
a) look away. Probably blush and smile, unless you are skilled at the art of "playing it cool".
b) jump across any obstacles that may be in your path while Person X does the same. Ends (or begins?) in ferocious making out.
That's it. That's the dichotomy. I've got it figured.
Hot.
In other news, I have a fifteen page paper on ancient Athenian democracy- specifically, Athenian citizenship within the democracy- due on Tuesday and I haven't started researching it yet. Unless research involves late walks at night, drinking raspberry vodka, and working at an effin' convenience store. If that's the case, I'm rocking school like it's never been rocked before.
