I have a new place to live, scores of idealistic dreams for the future, a fixed bookshelf, sushi rice, a letter I cannot send, hopes to turn my entire bedroom into a fort with lights and a cardboard star and fleece blankets and art on the walls and a thousand pillows, a checkerboard cloth covering the desk my computer rests on, freezing cold fingers, a job- provided I fit into the existing schedule at the convenience store, soft hands, and a garden across the street.

New Year's was mostly enjoyable. Food downtown at Ferris', an amusing bus ride to the university, light snow on the walk to Sacha's, Trivial Pursuit (won by a guy who occasionally frequents this site, I think..), and drinks all around. Pleasant.
