Okay, folks. I'm back in Victoria, finally. The last few days of spending time with my family were riddled with stress, financial woes, and other such annoyances. Nothing major, but the constant pressure to be doing something, anything, started to get to me. Reading is considered a sin in my house; I'm expected to be outside at all times.
I realized on the drive to Nanaimo that I don't think my father has ever been proud of me. That.. scared me, a lot.
My mom drove me to Nanaimo, where I caught the Greyhound bus the rest of the way down-island. I read comic books while the rain pattered against the tinted windows. I was wearing the red and black legwarmers that my grandmother knitted me for Christmas- I'm truly in love with them.
Currently typing from a friend's place where I'm staying for the next day or so, until I move into my new suite. His keyboard is one that he found at Value Village, and it's themed in a Winnie the Pooh style. The keys are hard to press, so typing goes slowly. I'm used to being a typing wizard, and this really sets me back a step or two.. kind of cuts out some of my ego, I suppose.
Spent today downtown. Used my Chapters gift card on a vegan cookbook and a book by Burroughs. I also bought pink & black striped legwarmers.. I'm pretty sure that they are my new obsession, and not even in the "har, I'm being ironic and wearing clothes from the eighties" way- in the "oh my, I don't know if I can handle this much awesome" way.
'Cause of course, that's the dichotomy: eighties vs. awesome. In case you weren't sure.
Tomorrow I apply at a convenience store. I need a job so badly.
Then- drinking downtown with friends. There will be fireworks and hopefully lots of lovely people to kiss at midnight.
What kind of wanker takes pictures like this?
I.. never actually make this face in real life, I don't think. Isn't the unwashed "I-just-got-out-of-bed" hair hot? Heh.
This one's for pixxy. Do you have idea how awful it would be if I actually owned a digital camera? I'd damn near get naked on teh 1nt3rw3b, missus!
It's really, really nice to be home.

And you have moogily googily eyes.
I am currently obsessed with legwarmers myself after receiving a nice black pair for xmas. I'm thinking I need to learn how to knit some. I'm sure it's fairly easy.
You should apply at captain cooks bakery on fort st. between vancouver and cook. It's full time and it just says you need cash experience
