Everything in Comox is going so well. I am happy. My friends are darling, my family is surprisingly comforting, the books I'm reading are fan-fucking-tastic, my baking is staying above par, I'm eating well, and I'm almost finished all of the gifts that I'm making. Honeycomb candles, mix CDs, peanut butter chocolate bars, and peanut brittle, mostly. And cards. So many cards.
[Bottles of red wine and sugar cookies. Cold knees and warm hands. An endless horizon and your arm in mine. The ocean smirking at our feet and wide, bright smiles. Fast, sweet lips and your arms around my waist. "We used to go out", you say, and of course I remember. We laugh almost as hard as we kiss.]
Even though I think Christmas is a little on the ridiculous side, I'm not opposed to making people happy.. and who doesn't like receiving mail? Yeah, exactly. I've sent out most of the cards and letters I was making, as of yesterday.
And did I mention that I'm thieving wireless internet from the neighbours? If they don't know enough about computers to encrypt their network, they're damn well going to have me gankin' it. Free internet is the best kind.
Despite all of this, I look forward to being back in Victoria. I miss that city when I'm gone. I'm hoping to be there for New Year's- another sky to drink under. Absinthe is a tentative plan, but we'll see. These things- "plans"- have a tendency not to pan out, so I prefer to avoid them altogether. Chance and circumstance will bring events [and friends and hugs and love and dreams and hope and...] to me. No need to look; not right now.
Happy holidays, and all that jazz. Hope all of you are well.

mix cds are still the best present, I made my little sister some this year as well. though peanut brittle is pretty good.
